Cooking & Food
The kitchen is my happy place. I have taken my passion for food and helped people make delicious meals . I love to cook because it allows me to do things for other. When I make a meal for others and see the satisfaction in their faces, it makes me feel delighted. Another reason I love to cook is because I love the different expressions my friends and family make when I ask them to taste my food. My recipes exposed a wide audience to cuisine infused with a pinch of my Cape Verdean and Senegalese culture.
MY LATEST BOOK
Frenchie was born and raised in Dakar, Senegal until the age of 14, when she migrated to Boston, Massachusetts with her older brother, Christopher. She instantly fell in love with the abundance and possibilities that America offered. During her first trip to a US grocery store, she was dazzled by items like okra and gizzards being offered in large quantities. This was a huge contrast to the local markets Frenchie and her mother frequented in Dakar. These differences made her appreciate even more her new reality. Her love for cooking was nurtured by her mother, who was very skilled in the kitchen. The way Viviane transformed food was something to behold. The main thing that stood out to Frenchie was how her mom prepared meals based on the ingredients in season. Now as an adult, she understands this is what it takes to achieve the perfect dish. She knows that this book will help you achieve the best in your own kitchen.
